There are so many heroes that day, but our hero is Don. Don and his grandmother live 3 houses down from my daughter, India and me.
Just a couple of minutes after the tornado passed, Don was at my basement window screaming for me. Me, India and 2 neighborhood children were in my basement with just a small window where we could talk to each other.
After making sure his 4yr old daughter and 81 yr old grandmother were safe, he came back and got the children, India and me out. Then Don went from house to house, or what was left of them, and pulled out 2 elderly people from the rubble.
Don was our hero on Highview Avenue that day and we love him.
